Yoga Therapy

Yoga TherapyCamYoga-2090

As the name suggests, Yoga Therapy is the therapeutic application of yoga, to assist people with a range of physical, emotional and mental health concerns. Yoga Therapy empowers and supports individuals to manage and improve their health and well-being. Using the principles of yoga and applying a range of yoga practices, developed within a professional therapeutic relationship. Applications include helping people with concerns such as sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, addictions, PTSD, chronic fatigue, back pain, scoliosis, asthma, digestive issues, fertility and menstrual issues.

In a series of private consultations, your needs will be discussed and assessed by a qualified Yoga Therapist. From this, a customised yoga practice will be developed and taught; one that is appropriate for your particular needs. Factors for different individual needs that might be considered include general health, specific injuries or conditions, age, strength, flexibility, and life circumstances. Sessions might also include coaching or counselling.

Yoga therapy is also offered in group classes or courses.

Some of the reasons to consider yoga therapy:

  • Specific therapeutic benefits for injury, illness, stress and emotional difficulties
  • Privacy, personal attention and support
  • Development of a personal home practice for your individual needs
  • Convenience of sessions times made by appointment

Where appropriate, sessions may also include several people and be structured as a small therapeutic yoga class.
