Yoga for Healing

Gentle Yoga for Healing

Suitable for those experiencing chronic pain and health issues

Most of us have to deal with “health issues” from time to time in our lives, but when you are experiencing chronic pain or chronic ill-health, whatever its cause, often the last thing you want to do is move. Why? Because it hurts! And/or it just feels too exhausting…

The pain and fatigue may be due to conditions such as fibromyalgia, CFS, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, peripheral neuropathy or the residual, long-term effects of injury or trauma. Whatever the cause of the chronic pain and fatigue, moving your body and connecting with your breath can contribute significantly to the healing process.

Lucy Karnani was first diagnosed with fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis in 2008. As an avid yogi she practised daily, even when her pain levels were at their maximum. She has since dealt with reoccurring “episodes” of fibromyalgia with a combination of gentle yoga poses, breathing exercises and a variety of other effective yoga practices.

Lucy will lead you through gentle yoga poses (asana) and breathing exercises (pranayama) to help ease your pain and increase your strength and flexibility. You will also be provided with tools to help decrease your anxiety, and to assist you in coping with your medical conditions and other life stressors. These tools will be adapted to your individual needs to guide you on your healing journey.

As a yoga teacher, Lucy knows firsthand that a regular practice can support people who suffer from chronic pain. She is committed to creating a caring and compassionate environment for those who are dealing with this challenge in their lives.
